What To Expect When It Snows
As it begins to snow in Wisconsin, let's review how these snowy conditions may affect your driving lessons.
Living in the Midwest, we are accustomed to snow, and gaining practice in these conditions is essential to being a competent and safe driver on the roads for years to come! However, if we hear there will be a snow or weather advisory for the day or following morning, we will begin to monitor and follow these steps:
Step-1
8am - We will test out the road conditions in our vehicles. If the roads are too slick or icy, we will cancel lessons up until 12pm and re-evaluate the roads in a few hours. You will receive a call from the office or your instructor.
Step-2
12pm - If the roads are still icy or too slick for driving, we will cancel the remainder of the day. If the roads have been sufficiently plowed and a wintery weather lesson can continue, we will plan to practice.
First Lessons:
If it is your first lesson or you are still getting the hang of the basics, we encourage cancelling for the day.
Free Cancel:
We understand the weariness of driving in the snow, even if you have held your permit for a while, and so lessons during snow or ice conditions are free to cancel for the day (late penalty removed) if you choose to do so. You can cancel directly through your student account, or by texting the office at 608-238-4202. If you were charged a late cancel penalty through your account, we will remove it.
Snow Lessons:
Snow lessons are a unique and important experience by themselves. We will have an AWD equipped vehicle handy for any who choose to move forward with a snow lesson at our Westside location for the rest of this Winter season for those who want to learn to drive in the snow further.
